Hi all,
One of the reasons Dartmouth was considered unlikely for extension in the
past was that they already had a local male service fraternity, Kappa Kappa
Kappa (the name predates the Klan and the fraternity retains that name
because it refuses to allow its honorable tradition to be altered in any way
by those morons in bedsheets). I have a friend who attended Dartmouth and who
had a roommate in the fraternity. They are very much like some of our
(better-behaved) all-male chapters. One of their brothers told me that he had
been approached by A Phi O, but that the chapter was not interested in going
co-ed or in becoming national (they had been approached by other national
fraternities as well).
I would assume that they are still in existence (if they predated the Klan, they
probably have managed to survive the past 10 years since I visited), which could
make starting A Phi O more of a challenge.
