Joseph Morrone

for the honor of

1997 Fall Pledge Class Namesake

by

Zeta Theta Chapter

Drexel University

Our chapter has chosen to nominate Joseph Morrone for the 1997 Fall
Pledge Class Namesake due to his overwhelming contribution to Alpha Phi
Omega at the chapter, Sectional, Regional and National level. We have
gathered what information we could on his vast accomplishments and
contributions. There is no doubt that an immense volume has not been
included. Despite this lack of information, we feel strongly that the
information enclosed along with his reputation are testaments of his worth
for such an honor.

Brother Joseph Morrone pledged the Zeta Theta chapter at Drexel

"Joe devoted most of his time to Zeta Theta while he was at Drexel.
You could always count on him being in the fraternity office in the DAC
(Drexel Activity Center) whenever you dropped in. I remember he held a
number of chapter offices over the years, but I don't remember which ones
or when [at least one was President]. He helped organize many chapter
activities in this days . . . ." Jared Warmiel (one of brother Morrone's
pledge brothers)
He continues to help our chapter by serving as a sectional
representative, advisor, and all around friend.

He served at the Sectional and Regional level as:

He served at the National level by being a member of the:
Title IX Committee 1976 to ?

He served at the National level by advising:
the Credentials & Rules committee at the National
Convention for many many many years

He has been awarded numerous Distinguished Service Keys (DSKs). At
least one for each the chapter, Sectional, Regional, and National levels.

Additional information and comments that the nominator would like
the committee to consider:

"I also know that Joe often takes undergrads to / from conferences
outside and inside of their own section, has participated in chapter and
sectional service activities including work weekends etc., shows up on
campus to check up on and help chapters, has done a LOT to develop
leadership within the sections and chapters, and is frequently a listener
and advisor for folks on Regional and National staff." Betsy Ullrich
(Section 92 Staff)

"I had the opportunity to serve with him at the 1996 National
Convention. We were both advisors to the Rules & Credentials committee.
This being my first time with the committee, his knowledge and help was a
great benefit to myself and the committee. His patience (even at 4 AM) is
tremendous." Steven R. Crawford

"Let me also say that it [brother Morrone's National DSK] was one
of the most deserved that I have seen presented." Jerry Schroeder,
Immediate Past National President

As we have mentioned before, there is much more to be said about
brother Morrone. The information presented here is just a brief summary of
the nominee's actions, accomplishments and life experiences that reflect
the Fraternity's Cardinal Principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service
and their impact on the fraternity.
The Zeta Theta Chapter, Drexel University, hopes that the
