The September issue of Scouting Magazine just showed up in my mailbox -
Good news - there is a very positive article about the Explorer Post
sponsored by the Alpha Alpha Chapter at the University of Illinois
at Champaign-Urbana, and their work with the local Boy Scout council.
It mentions their projects with a local Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout
Troop, and other district and council activities, including how they
used money from last year's Youth Grant program.
There is also a half-page trailer with a general introduction to
Alpha Phi Omega.
Other related articles are about the Eagle Scout Association at
Atlanta's Morehouse College, who conduct merit badge and other
advancement counseling for local Scouts, and a piece about Virgil
Bower, who has been a Scoutmaster in the riverfront neighborhood
of Kansas City since 1934 (!!!) - in the article it says that he was
a member of APO at William Jewell College, in Liberty, Missouri.
It's good to see we are getting some good PR with the Boy Scouts.
Good job, Alpha Alpha!!
