That strikes me as really strange.  Just from a philosophic point of view I
would say there is no right to be a member of APHIO.  No private
organization is interfering with the rights of an individual when it asks
that individual to refrain from certain conduct at its functions.

I am well past 21 (18 was the legal drinking age when I was 18) but have
never felt the need to drink at any APHIO function.  When It was acceptable
I did on occasion. When it has been frowned upon I've never felt
disadvantaged by the policy.  You have to respect the views and needs of
the undergraduates on an issue like this.
