Brothers:
well, i figure i ought to put in my two-cent's worth on this discussion.
having been to 3 national conventions and seemingly countless sectional and
regional conferences i can say that i sympathize with the brothers who think
that the roll call is getting out of hand. to that effect i offer this
proposal:
each region has a roll call at one of its meetings. any chapter who wants to
participate can. the region would then through some self-determined method
come up with a "winner" to represent them at the awards banquet where all ten
finalists would present their roll calls to the floor. applause vote from the
general assembly or national board vote would determine a winner. this would
allow for all chapters to have their individual expression and have it seen by
many other brothers. it would also keep things moving on the national level.
i beleive it would also provide an interesting switch in the kind of roll
calls which we hear now. the winners would be chosen to represent their
region and this would carry a great honor, and i beleive this would result in
better, more planned roll calls.
whadya think?
