It's me again ___

As a female brother from a co-red (sorry) chapter; I think that there is no
problem with all-male or all-female chapterd. I think that is pne of apo's
greatest assets - diversity among chapters and meembers.

I don't like changes to tradition for no reason either. I love the Toast Song
and other rituals. My only concern is that not changing (or addindg to) these
rituals can prevent new chapters from chartering; and this issue had been
discussed before. That is why in Boston, gender-exclusive language was removed
from part of the Ritual.

I love, as I said fervantly before, being a BROTHER. Someone privately accused
me of the opposite. I do not want the Toast Song s changed; but if the only
way to ensure future growth is to rectify the issue of language, then add a
third verse. It does not change our Fraternity history, and adds to it; just as
the acceptance of non-Biy Scouts, women, and international chapters has added to
Alpha Phi Omega.

Also, the third vrrs, IMO, need not be sung at private events of all-male
chapters; but should be taught to current and future Brothers and pledges so
that they are educated tto the fact that APO does have female Brothers, and
 that
our History did not always have that facet.

In closing, do any of you realizt that the Toast song was added o to in 1964??
Originally the Toast Song was only one verse. Robert Northwood (I believe)
wrote a second verse, and it was adopted by the 1964 convention in Denver.

I do not want to have rituals and traditions changed; but to enhance and add to
them, to include new events and trends in our Fraternity, can do nothing bu t
benefit current and future Brothers.
