Zhe, I can tell you feel very strongly about this, and I don't think there's any
way to change your mind at this point, but did you really mean to say this:
> The dixiecrats/democrats HATE BLACK PEOPLE. That is why they support abortion
and make it extremely difficult for black babies to be adopted.
Since when does ANYBODY support abortion? When was the last time you met
somebody who said they were pro-abortion? You can disagree with the pro-choice
camp all you want, but nobody LIKES abortion. It is expensive, painful both
physically and emotionally, and harms women.
Now I'll start by saying that I am as pro-choice as anybody out there. However,
I also believe that every single abortion that occurs is an indication that we
have failed to provide for women. These failures range from poor availibility
of affordable birth control, lack of health insurance and adequate prenatal
care, and insufficient family leave policies. I believe that none of these
things will get better under Bush, and failure to start serving the needs of
women better will only result in MORE abortions. I urge you to rethink your
position on the candidates in this election if you really want to see abortions
in this country reduced. More progressive social policy, rather than
overturning Roe v. Wade, would be far more effective in preventing abortions.
Also, don't foget that Bush wants abstinence-only programs and does not want
money for HIV-prevention to go to countries unless they adapt such programs.
This will kill far more people, including young babies, than abortion ever will
and is far more serious.

P.S. Are there any current students on this list? Yeah, I didn't think so.
