Hi Milo (and everyone else),

I rarely spam a whole bunch of lists with anything, but I think this is
important enough that I should make note of it.

I believe the poll you have written (mit/tevin/www/mural.html) is
flawed, and that while you seem to intend this to be a (objective) poll
hoping to find the general opinion of MIT's student body on this issue,
the writing in your e-mail suggests very strongly that you are biased
against a removal of the mural.

While it is true that I (for now) do not support preservation of the
mural, and would personally prefer something like the setup shown in the
Tech's "photo" (if it can be called such)--glass windows, bright and
open atmosphere, and all,

1. Your poll should include at least the additional poll choice of a
full-size etching.
2. The content of your e-mail, with its obvious slant, may easily bias
or at least polarize readers, who will likely proceed immediately to
respond to your poll, likely leading to inaccurate and non-objective
results. (This -may- be your purpose, but that's a different story.) I
believe it would be better if a disinterested person--or at least a
person willing to be fairer at her/his approach--were to (sensibly)
design, conduct, and manage such an opinion poll.

Please direct any comments on this e-mail to me only, if possible, or
(preferably) to http://www.livejournal.com/community/mitmit/157533.html
by leaving a comment, so that this doesn't spawn a needless spammy
e-mail-based flame war. (I always said that MIT needs a good-quality
pan-MIT internet forum.) Thank you in advance.

~DT
